Footwear which is too tight or narrow can put pressure on your toes and in time lead to ingrowing toenails, this doesn’t just apply to high heeled shoes although the angle of killer heels can push toes into very cramped areas which can cause pressure and pain. Other footwear, if not fitted well can cause similar issues.
You will know if you are suffering from an ingrowing toenail if the toe is inflamed, sore and red. There may be bleeding or infection.
To deal with this problem you will, for a while, have to ditch those heels!
Following these guidelines should help get your toe feeling back to normal. If symptoms persist, if the area get’s swollen, red and hot or if you are Diabetic, then it’s time to seek professional help from a podiatrist.
